The rudeness of the society towards obese people is saddening. My daughter who was in the early twenties had suffered enough criticisms from the people around her. I realized that she was becoming reserved and trying to avoid mingling with people. I was determined to help her. It was not just her appearance that I was worried about, but also her health. I have been reading various articles mentioning the ill effects of obesity. The situation is quite scary as it can pose danger to the life of an individual. I came across a website that mentioned about the weight loss surgeries available today. Lap band surgery was the leading method due its success rates and cost effectiveness. In this process, an inflatable silicone band commonly known as lap band is placed around the upper stomach to create a small pouch. This has the potential to restrict the amount of food that an individual can fit into her stomach.

I would like to specify that the surgery is minimally invasive as the bands are inserted through small incisions made using surgical equipments. It is not only that the individual lose weight after this procedure, but also helps her to keep the weight off. The morbid obesity that was spoiling my daughter’s life was cured completely. It has reduced the intake of food to a great extent. As a mother, I make sure that she eats a healthy diet so as to remain healthy and beautiful.
